Tax Asaan – Sign up (New Registration, e-Enrollment and Forgot Password)

Introduction

Tax Asaan is a mobile application with selected functionality of Iris web application. This mobile application provides the taxpayers a quick and on-the-go access of basic verification features like Active Taxpayers List (ATL), Online NTN/STRN Inquiry, Exemption Certificate and CPR Utilization Status etc.

To facilitate taxpayers, FBR has introduced Registration as a new feature of Tax Asaan mobile application. This feature will help taxpayers to get register on Iris through Tax Asaan app. Just like Iris – web portal, now taxpayer can provide their required information on a simple form available on both android and IOS versions of the mobile app and can get their user/password directly on their registered mobile numbers and emails.

Not only new taxpayer can register through Tax Asaan, taxpayers that are already registered with FBR but does not have Iris login/password can get enrolled to obtain their online account credentials. The Application will facilitate both un-registered and NTN holders to get enrolled by filling a simple form through Signup options available in mobile application.

Getting Started

Tax Asaan is available for both Android and iOS platforms for free download and gets installed on one tap. Once installed, you can find the application icon under your mobile Apps list. Simply tap on the application icon to get started and view the home screen as shown below:

Sign Up

Tax Asaan application facilitates both the already NTN holders and New Taxpayers to get registered on Iris with the help of “Sign Up” option. As soon as the user provides the required information and submit the form, the application will send user a unique user name and password combination. The user name and password can be used on both Iris web portal as well as the Tax Asaan App itself for the tax payer to login and file Tax Return.

Following are the steps to login/Sign-In Tax Asaan mobile application:

  1. Click on the hamburger button provided on the top right corner of the home screen to view the main menu. The application will load a left panel with list of all available features along with the option to sign-up.
  2. Tap on “Sign Up” option from the left panel to navigate to the Sign Up screen as shown below:
  3. Enter your 13 digits “CNIC” number and click “Continue” button as shown below:
  4. Application will redirect user on New Registration form with pre-filled CNIC number as shown below:
  5. Click on “Select” menu to select prefix as shown in following screen:
  6. Enter First Name, Middle Name (Optional) and Last Name in given fields. Then click on another “Select” menu to select service provider for your Cell Number as shown below:
  7. Enter your Cell Number registered on your CNIC in a format as shown in field watermark.
  8. Re-enter your cell number to confirm.
  9. Enter Email in provided field and re-enter email in “Confirm Email” field to confirm.
  10. Click on “Select” menu to select city as shown below:
  11. Application will redirect user on city selection page. You can scroll down to select your desired city or you can also use search option to select a particular city as shown below:
  12. As soon as user select a city, application will redirect user back to registration page with selected city filled in required field.
  13. Enter Address in given field.
  14. Click on Submit button to submit the registration form after adding all required information in provided fields. On submit, application will redirect user on code verification page as shown below:
  15. Enter code you received on your provided Cell Number in “SMS Code” field.
  16. Enter code you received on your provided Email Address in “Email Code” field.[Note: In case no code received on cell number or email, Please wait for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes click on “Resend” button if the codes are still not received.]
  17. Click on “Verify” button to complete the registration process. On successful verification application will send User/Password information along with pin code via SMS and Emails to login Tax Asaan Application.

[Note: Please note that login is required in order to file Tax Return from Tax Asaan Mobile application or Iris. The same user and password can be used to login Iris web portal as well.]

e-Enrollment

Please Note that in case the provided CNIC is already associated with NTN i.e. user already registered with FBR, then application will load a simple form of e-Enrollment with fewer fields of required information as shown below:

Taxpayer Name will be auto populated in required field based on CNIC number. The remaining process of E-Enrollment is same as of new registration. The taxpayer needs to enter required information on e-enrollment form and click submit button. Application will redirect user on Code verification screen as follows:

Enter SMS code received on your provided Cell Number in “SMS Code” field and Email code received on your provided Email Address in “Email Code” field. Click on “Verify” button to complete the E-Enrollment process. On successful verification application will send User/Password information along with pin code via SMS and Emails to login Tax Asaan Application.

Forgot Password

In case user is already registered on Iris web portal or Tax Asaan mobile application but forgot his/her password, the password can be retrieved through Tax Asaan app by using “Forgot Password” link available on login screen. To reset password following are the easy steps to be followed:

  1. Click on “Forgot Password” link given on the login screen of Tax Asaan mobile application as shown below:
  2. Application will redirect user on Forgot password screen. Enter CNIC/Registration No., Email, select service Provider for your cell number and enter your registered cell number in provided fields. Then click on “Submit” button as shown below:
  3. After validating Email and Cell number, application will send SMS and Email codes on registered Cell number and Email address and redirect user on code verification screen as shown below:
  4. Enter code you received on your provided Cell Number in “SMS Code” field.
  5. Enter code you received on your provided Email Address in “Email Code” field.[Note: In case no code received on cell number or email, Please wait for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes click on “Resend” button if the codes are still not received.]
  6. Click on “Verify” button to proceed for re-set password. On successful verification application will redirect taxpayer on “New Password” screen as shown below:
  7. Enter “New Password” in provided field. Please note the instructions given on screen for password strength.
  8. Re-Enter password in “Confirm Password” field to confirm.
  9. Click “Change Password” button. On success, Application will display a success message on screen and now you can go back to main login screen to use new password.

Special Instructions for ERROR Correction

In case user is unable to view all menu options in left panel or only “Sign In” option is listed in left panel then there must be some issue with the internet connectivity. To resolve this error, check internet connectivity and Close and Re-Run Tax Asaan mobile application.
